Title of Project:
Identification of New Anticancer Drugs from Marine Organisms

Aims of Project:

  • Discover novel anticancer agents from marine invertebrates
  • Prepare extracts of marine organisms and conduct preliminary fractionation
  • Screen pre-fractionated extracts chemically and biologically for new cytotoxic compounds
  • Isolate and characterize compounds and conduct preliminary pharmacological studies on the potential drug candidates
