- Protect your skin while in the sun by wearing SPF 15 or greater. 90% of skin cancers detected each year could be prevented with proper use of sun protection.
GET CHECKED.
- Get regular check-ups from your health care provider. The best way to beat cancer is to detect it early when treatment is more effective.
EAT HEALTHY FOODS.
- Shed extra pounds. Obesity is linked to cancer of the breast, ovaries, cervix and prostate.
- Take 5 a day. Eating 5 fruits and veggies can help decrease risks of cancer.
- Take down fat. Make healthy choices by eating foods low in fat, moderate in calories and rich in fiber.
BE ACTIVE.
- Physical activity can help protect you from some cancers. Be active any way you can to help prevent cancer and to feel a lot better.
- Walk, play, dance, garden, do housework, run, join the gym.
